Labor Day for me symbolizes the end of summer, the start of Football season and the beginning of my busy season. The history and meaning of Labor Day is dedicated to the economic and social achievements of employees in the United States. Anstett CPA PA has made some great achievements since it's opening and I can only attest this success to my staff, my family and of course my amazing clients.
This Labor Day I am going to share with you one of my favorite foods. Being from Wisconsin, there is only one food that clearly defines Football season and Labor Day and that is the beer brat. Enjoy a great and easy recipe to make beer brats and have a safe and happy Labor Day!
The Ultimate Beer Brat
- 1 dozen brats
- Beer, to cover
- 1 medium large sweet onion
- 2 ounces (1/2 stick) butter
- Serving suggestions: fresh baked brat buns with sauerkraut, onions, green peppers, ketchup, and/or mustard
Place brats in a large pot with onions and butter, cover the brats with beer. Bring to a boil and reduce to simmer until brats are cooked. Remove brats and set aside beer mixture. Grill brats until golden brown and return to beer mixture until ready to serve. Serve brats on fresh baked brat buns with sauerkraut, onions, green peppers, ketchup, and/or mustard.
